COMPREHENSIVE LAWN MOWER REVIEWS: Snapper 22-Inch SE Series SPV22675HW SELF-PROPELLED MOWER
Snapper Mowers is a well-respected name in the lawn care equipment industry. In 1951, they introduced the industry’s first self-propelled walk-behind lawn mower. Loaded with features, Snapper’s 22″ SPV22675HW FWD Self-Propelled Lawn Mowers is the latest offering in its SE series walk-behind mowers. (Please Note: The Snapper SPV22675HW is a GAS powered self propelled mower. If you’re looking for an ELECTRIC self-propelled lawn mower, go HERE.)
While other lawn mowers are made primarily for mulching or bagging, the Snapper SPV22675HW gives you 3 mowing options. Don’t want to commit to bagging or mulching? No problem. You can easily switch from bagging to mulching to side discharge with this mower. The rear bag can even be removed with only one hand.
And unlike traditional gas mowers, the Snapper SPV22675HW offers an electric key start, so you don’t have to worry about pulling a cord (although it has that, too). No need to choke or prime the engine, just turn the key to start. Easy.
Snapper Lawn Mowers SPV22675HW Features
You can adjust the speed of the Snapper SPV22675HW to suit your mowing pace. If you want to get the job done quickly, the Snapper can go up to 4.2 miles per hour. It has a powerful Briggs & Stratton engine that’ll make mowing any lawn a breeze. The rear-wheel drive offers better traction, especially on uneven or sloped lawns. The deck height can be adjusted from 1.25-inch to 4-inch easily with a single lever.

Negatives and Complaints about the Snapper SPV22675HW
Weighing in at 89 pounds, the self-propelled option makes the Snapper SPV22675HW a breeze to push. However, you cannot engage the drive without the blade running. It’s not an issue until you have to move over non-grassy areas. The turning blade will kick up gravel or pebbles as it continues to spin. It’s either that or push this 89 lb. behemoth manually. That’s not an easy task.
One customer complained that the Snapper SPV22675HW clogs easily if the grass is a little high. This may be the case with any mower; as the lawn gets overgrown, the mower will have a harder time. However, the Snapper SPV22675HW seems to have many catch points under the deck allowing for easy build-up of clippings. It’s the same issue with the side discharge. If the grass is wet or has excess moisture, the side discharge tends to clog up easily. The same customer mentioned that he had a difficult time getting the electric start to work initially. The problem turned out to be the screw connecting the terminal to the battery was too small causing the connection to lose contact. This was an easy fix by using a larger screw, but still annoying when you can’t get the electric start to work when it should.
Another concern has to do with the packaging. It seems that some customers have received their mower damaged during shipment because of improper handling of the package. Apparently, if the package is on its side instead of upright, the lower arms get bent. This is probably an issue with the delivery company rather than the manufacturer. Perhaps proper instructions by Snapper Lawn Mowers on the outside of the box are needed.
