Conservation Partnerships

In the course of our work The Tiger Foundation has been fortunate to link up with a number of organizations, government agencies and other groups. These include the American Zoo and Aquarium Association (AZA); Conservation Breeding Specialist Group of the IUCN; Save The Tiger Fund, a special project of the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation with ExxonMobil Corporation (USA); US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) Rhinoceros and Tiger Conservation Fund; Minnesota Zoo; Discovery Channel's Animal Planet and Tremendous Productions; South Lakes Wild Animal Park and the Sumatran Tiger Trust (UK); Fauna and Flora International (UK); Zoological Society of London (UK); 21st Century Tiger Fund at the London Zoo (UK); Australian Regional Association of Zoological Parks and Aquariums (ARAZPA); the Zoological Parks Board of NSW; the Australasian Commonwealth EPA; Dreamworld (Australia); Discovery Asia (Singapore); Auckland Zoo (New Zealand); IUCN Cat Specialist Group (Switzerland); and the Environmental Investigation Agency (UK).

In Indonesia our program is a collaborative conservation effort under the administrative umbrella of the Department of Forest Protection and Nature Conservation. Other critical in-country relationships are with the Indonesian Zoological Parks Association (PKBSI); Taman Safari Indonesia; World Wildlife Fund-Indonesia Program; Research & Development Center for Biology (LIPI); and the Ministry of State for Population and the Environment (Jakarta).

Funding Requirements:

The Tiger Foundations seeks to raise approximately US$75,000 to fund its 2001-2002 tiger conservation activities at Way Kambas and Bukit Tigapuluh National Parks.
