Question: I have moles in my lawn and it’s driving me crazy! How can I get rid of the moles?
- Alexis B. (Polk City, FL)
Answer: While there are many products out there that purport to provide effective mole control, there are really only two effective ways to get rid of the moles in your lawn. The first is to trap and remove/kill the moles. The second is to use mole baits to attract and kill them.
The first thing you have to understand is that while moles do eat grubs, they feed primarily on earthworms. So, treating your lawn for grubs will not get rid of your mole problem. So, you’re left with either trapping or baiting. For trapping, there are several products out there that seem to work well:
(1) Victor Out O’Sight Mole Trap
(4) Nash Choker Loop Mole Trap
For mole bait, the one to use is the Tomcat Mole Killer Worm Formula. This bait is designed to look like a worm and is supposed to kill moles in a single feeding.
