In concert with The Tiger Foundation's objectives, it seemed logical to craft a world-class IMAX documentary. This is the largest film format that exists, and perhaps the superlative messenger to convey both the dignity and the plight of the tiger to millions of people around the globe. As many of you will know, this giant medium powerfully tells a tale. Dazzling images projected onto six-story high screens with digital, six-channel sound yield the most realistic experience short of being there. To ensure the success of this ambitious project, we began working in 1997 with the most experienced and successful film producers and distributors in this medium: MacGillivray Freeman Films. Together, we have crafted a preliminary treatment for a film whose working title is "The Last Tiger".

The Tiger Foundation sees The Last Tiger as a tool to reach the eyes, ears and minds of millions of people worldwide. The majesty of the IMAX format and the urgency of the film's message can serve as inspiration to people of all walks of life. Supplemental materials in the form of museum exhibitry, study guides for students, and conservation-oriented promotional materials can encourage action to save the tiger from extinction. In addition to IMAX film viewers, The Last Tiger could reach millions more people via other film formats, video and television broadcasts. Whether in a large format or "small", the message of The Last Tiger will touch the hearts and minds of its audience. Moreover, the supplemental educational and promotional material will be designed to help them act.

In order to make The Last Tiger an even more powerful call to action, we intend to produce a soundtrack featuring some of the most popular and inspiring recording artists of our time. This will further increase the film's appeal with younger generations and hopefully generate additional penetration and revenues. A two-part companion television special is also under consideration.

The Last Tiger may furthermore be translated into other languages, such as French, Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin, Cantonese, and even Bahasa Indonesia to reach millions more with its urgent message.

The Last Tiger is still in its early development phase. Financing has yet to be secured. We will post updates as we make progress on this most important project.
